There are many different types of hair extensions available for women. The keratin fusion hair extensions are becoming more and more popular these days. As these extensions give a natural look and last longer than any other type of hair extensions. There are two different methods for applying the keratin fusion extensions, namely the hot fusion extension and the cold fusion extension method. Both the methods are good but their lies a little difference in both of them, which every hair extension enthusiast should know about.

The difference between hot and cold keratin fusion extensions

  1. Hot fusion extensions: The hot fusion extensions are also called the tip hair extension. These extensions are applied to your hair in small bundles with the help of a heated keratin adhesive. Since the human hair is already made up of 90% keratin, this method of keratin fusion extension application is gentler on your hair than any other method.

The hot fusion extension takes two hours’ time for installation. These extensions last for about two to four months. Another advantage to the hot fusion extension is that you can try a number of hairstyles from high buns to hair straightening without causing any damage to the natural hair or the hair extensions.

2.The cold fusion extensions: The cold fusion extensions are also known as micro link or micro loop hair extensions. While applying these extensions small sections of hair is weaved through micro link tubes. Tools like pliers are used for the weaving the hair. The micro link hair extensions are good for the women who want healthy and natural look for their hair.

The cold fusion extensions do not use any heat for the application. These extensions use ultra sound applicators to bond the extension with the natural hair. The cold fusion extension is called a more updated method than the hot fusion extension method as it avoids using heat for application. These extensions tend to be gentler on the hair than the hot fusion hair extensions.

Alas it can be said that both the fusion methods provide smooth finished looks that is devoid of any sort of bumps and lumps that tend to appear in other hair extension application methods. So if you are thinking about application of human hair extensions then you can try the hot fusion or the cold fusion method for the application of the extensions.
